Front Cover Draft
What i plan to call my magazine: Record - real music, real people, real records. This appeals to young adults who are interested in new music abd want to keep one step ahead of the mainstream. I have chosen this name because it was one of the suggestions from my questionnaire but it is also symbollic of the music industry because producing records and live stage performances was where it all started. I also do not know any other music magazines with this title so it was an original idea.
My reader profile: is both male and female aged 16-21+ who are interested in new and upcoming music e.g. Ed Sheeran. The genre focus is more towards unsigned artists than mainstream current pop music. From my questionnaire it was clear that people were more interested in reading about new releases, upcoming artists, gigs and I also had many requests for interviews.
Idea for front cover: My idea for my front cover was to look at an unsigned artist that I know called James Wollcott who has been trying to make it in the music industry and does his own gigs and is now signed to a record label. His style is very similar to popular artist Ed Sheeran so by choosing him as the next Ed Sheeran of 2013 it enabled me to discuss on a double page spread about who inspired him, how he made it and give him a relatability factor.
Other features would also include new releases, gigs and artist bios.
